What maintenance is required for block paving?
Block paving requires very little maintenance and it usually requires a good pressure wash once a year. Regular sweeping or de-weeding can help to keep your block paved driveway looking clean and tidy all year round.
Does block paving suffer from weeds?
With block paving weeds don’t grow from underneath the block, they occur because of surface seeding. Regularly spraying your block paving with weed killer and keeping the blocks and sand well sealed, can help to reduce the chance from growing.
Once installed, how long do I have to wait to use my block paving?

Do I need planning permission for a block paved driveway?
Planning permission isn’t usually necessary for block paved areas, if your property area suffers from flooding problems or water runs into a public drain, then the council might need to be contacted to look at the drainage options available. Cleaning and Resealing
What are the major benefits of applying block paving sealer to my driveway?
If your block paving has sealer applied properly then any future deterioration will be extremely minimal. The acrylic sealer enhances the colour of the block paving, minimises colour loss from ultra violet light, protects against oil stains, weeds and algae growth. It also solidifies the sand in the joints of the block paving which gives further overall protection.
After my driveway has had block paving sealing applied, how easy is it to clean off new oil and dirty stains?
Once sealer has been applied the block paving will be far less porous so any further staining will be easily removed. In most cases undiluted washing up liquid will be sufficient.
Drop Kerbs
Do I need a drop kerb?
If you need to drive a vehicle over the public footpath onto your driveway, you’ll need to install a drop kerb.
A drop kerb allows vehicles to cross the pavement from the road to a driveway and it is a legal requirement to have a drop kerb if you want to drive across the pavement onto your property.
How much does a drop kerb cost?
Each Drop Kerb is quoted and priced individually. You will require permission and have to pay for permits from your local council before you can have a drop kerb installed.
